For over twenty years teaching has brought sunshine to my days. If you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work, it feels like joy. I love the classroom. Students are usually eager to please and love being loved. Thriving in a peaceful, calm environment they are little miracles who change and grow right before your eyes. It is an enjoyable honour to be able to help them.
I’ve been involved in curriculum, student welfare and behaviour, school culture, classroom and school administration, leading teams and helping student teachers. It’s been an adventure.
Teaching has taken me into three states, from the city to the country and back again. I’ve seen many curriculum changes and delivery methods come and go. I’ve taught in public and private settings in different capacities, with varying amounts of resources.
In recent years I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside classroom teachers new to the profession, offering them what I can from my experience. It truly is a win-win. Solving problems together each bringing pieces of the puzzle to the table to find a way that works. It’s such a delight.
